Boil Water Advisory Issued for Areas in Boone County

Charleston, WV (HNN) – West Virginia American Water has issued a boil water advisory for customers living in the Racine, Joes Creek, Seth, Blooming Rose, Fosterville, Cooperstown, Orgas and Comfort areas of Boone County. A 10-inch main break near Racine has caused a water service disruption for customers in the area. The break is expected to take several hours to fix.
Customers in those areas should boil their water before consumption until further notice. Customers are asked to bring water used for drinking, cooking and brushing teeth to a full boil for a minimum of one minute, then cool before use.
Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be present in the water. West Virginia American Water also recommends the following steps:
