WV Hunting, Fishing Show Slated Jan. 26-28 at Charleston Civic Center
By HNN Staff
Charleston, WV HNN) -- Safari companies from Africa, elk hunt
outfitters
from the Rockies, bear hunt guides from Canada, and fishing charter
captains
from the Great Lakes are among the many professionals that will be
converging on the Charleston Civic Center Jan. 26-28, 2007.
They will be arriving to participate in the annual West Virginia
Hunting and
Fishing Show?. This event is the biggest hunting and fishing show and
the largest paid exposition in West Virginia. It has been West
Virginia’s
premier hunting and fishing show since 1987.
The show is produced by the non-profit West Virginia Trophy Hunters
Association? and manned by unpaid volunteers. The proceeds, above show
and organizational expenses, go to wildlife conservation and youth
outdoor
educational activities. This award winning organization has worked
tirelessly for wildlife and fishery conservation in West Virginia. Its
mission, beyond wildlife conservation, is defending our hunting
heritage.
Other than dues paid by the members, the annual show and auction is
their
sole source of funding.
Hunters and fishermen alike look forward to this show every year. It
provides high quality vendors and gives sportsmen a chance to view and
buy
the latest in hunting and fishing equipment and attire. The show also
provides an opportunity to speak with guides, outfitters and fishing
charter
groups, to arrange the dream trips of a lifetime. Every year some West
Virginia hunters book their first African big game hunt or their first
elk
hunt at the show. Others, pleased with their past experiences, come to
renew
acquaintances or book follow up trips.
With more than 230 booths, the West Virginia Whitetail Hall of Fame,
the
West Virginia Wildlife Charity Auction, hunting and fishing seminars,
and
during the day on Saturday, the birds of prey from the West Virginia
Raptor
Rehabilitation Center, this show has something for every outdoor
enthusiast. For more information visit their website at:
