Marshall Baseball Receives Top Pseudo-RPI Ranking in School History
Successful Thundering Herd Weekend Ups RPI

Huntington, WV (HNN) – The Marshall University baseball team earned its
highest Pseudo-RPI ranking in school history thanks in part to a very
successful weekend at the Arby’s Classic in Knoxville, Tenn., announced
Monday. The Thundering Herd owns the 64th spot in the RPI, the highest
since the end of the 2008 season when MU finished 70th with a 30-30-1
record and fell in the Conference USA championship.
At the Arby’s Classic the Herd defeated then ranked No. 17 Ohio State,
17-1 and Connecticut, 11-8 before dropping the tournament finale to
Tennessee, 13-8. MU hit .339 and scored 36 runs in the three
games. Reigning C-USA co-Hitter of the Week Victor Gomez led the
charge, hitting .571 (8-for-14) with two homers, seven runs scored and
11 RBI.
