Marshall Men’s Golf Concludes the Pinehurst Intercollegiate
Cutlip shot a season-low, 74

Pinehurst, NC (HNN) -- Marshall University’s Dustin Cutlip (RS Jr., Marlinton, W.Va., Pocahontas County H.S.) posted a season-low 74 on the final day of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate at Pinnehurst #8 Centennial Golf Course on Sunday afternoon, March 14, 2010.
 
Cutlip participated in the tournament as an individual, finishing at 10-over-par (75-77-74=226) through three rounds of play.
 
The Herd was led by Carson Schambach (So., Glen Dale, W.Va., John Marshall H.S.), who concluded the tournament at 11-over-par (72-79-76=227).
 
The Thundering Herd shot a 306 on the final day, to finish the tournament in 15th place (301-305-306=912).
 
Bennet Boyer (So., Millersburg, Pa., Millersburg Area H.S.) and Nathan Kerns (Fr., Ironton., Ohio, Ironton H.S.) shot a 75 and 76 respectively, on the final day to each finish the tournament at 12-over-par.
 
Aaron Boggs (RS-Fr., Madison, W.Va., Scott H.S.) and Bosten Miller (So., Charleston, W.Va., Capital H.S.) both posted a 79 in third round action and completed the Pinehurst Intercollegiate at 18-over-par.
 
Virginia Tech shot 12-over-par (290-292-294=876) in three rounds of play to earn the tournament victory, defeating the 15 team field.
 
University of North Carolina-Greensboro’s Robert Hoadley shot a 71 on Sunday to win the tournament at three-under-par (70-72-71=213).
 
Marshall returns to tournament action on March 19-21, when it travels to Greenville, S.C. for the Furman Intercollegiate.
