Marshall Women's Golf Finishes Day One of the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational
Second round of play gets postponed till day-two

Mobile, AL (HNN) -- The Marshall Women’s Golf team opened its 2010 spring season as it finished day-one of the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational on Monday, March 1, 2010 in Mobile, Ala. at Azalea City Golf Course. The Thundering Herd stand in 12th place as the second round of play was delayed, due to weather, until day two of the tournament.
 
MU’s first round of play was led by senior Andrea Grier (Hagerstown, Md.) as she shot a team-low 75 and finds herself tied for sixth place.
 
Larie Lynch (Huntington, W.Va.), Molly Ginger (Centerville, Ohio) and Samantha DiDomenico (Follansbee, W.Va.) each posted an 84 to round out the team’s first round score of 327.
 
Defending tournament champions Florida International (301) once again find themselves atop of the leader board, as they finished day-one one stroke ahead of Troy University (302).
 
Marshall (327) finds itself four-strokes behind Conference USA foe Southern Miss (323)in the 16 team tournament.
 
Four players; Alex Buelow (Stetson), Lauren Cate (Stetson), Kayla Cline (Winthrop) and Cristina Marin (Florida International), each shot a round-one-low of 73.
 
“We have an awful lot of work to do with not much time to get it done,” says head coach Meredith Knight Rowsey. “I am looking forward to improvement in day two.”
 
The Herd look to climb the rankings as the two-day tournament concludes with the remainder of the second round and the third and final round (18 holes) of play coming on Tuesday, with an 8:30 a.m. (CST) shotgun start.
