Huntington (HNN) – Marshall faltered at Cam Henderson Center
Saturday night against Toledo going back to losing close ones as the Herd
lost to the Rockets 83-74, Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005. Marshall is now 3-11
and 0-5 in the Mid American Conference.
It looked like head coach Ron Jirsa had the basketball
team going in the right direction after upsetting 24th ranked West
Virginia 59-55 last Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005. Marshall fans were hoping the
regained confidence from that win would springboard the Herd back to winning.
Reality quickly came back for the Herd as Toledo did most of their damage in
the first half taking a 41-28 lead shooting 70 percent from the free throw
line and nearly the same for two-point shooting.
Marshall had made a drastic turnaround in the second half to
the point of out scoring Toledo 46-42 and coming within four points with
two minutes left in the game. Marshall desperately tried to take
shots, but most of them did not make it.
Marshall will play Akron this coming Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 at home.
