Williamson, WV (HNN) – Under the cover of weekend, the United States Congress voted to pass President Obama and Nancy Pelosi's epic government takeover of healthcare in the United States.
Republican candidate for Congress, Elliott "Spike" Maynard said WV congressman Nick Rahall was one of the deciding votes that will allow passage of this monstrous government takeover of the healthcare system.
"Pro-life citizens know the bill will allow government funding of abortions and should be shocked that Rahall has cast such a vote," said Maynard.
"The tax increases in this government takeover of healthcare will not make it easier for business owners to hire new employees," said Maynard. "Congressman Rahall is one of the deciding votes that just made it harder for businesses to create new jobs."
Maynard continued, "The effects of this enormous government takeover could devastate our rural healthcare delivery system, and I can't believe he supports legislation that cuts Medicare for his constituents that depend on it so much for their healthcare."
Pointing out that major reform of the healthcare delivery system across the country would likely limit a patient's right to make decisions, Maynard continued, "Each patient should maintain a private, personal relationship with their doctor, not have some government bureaucrat in the decision-making process."
Spike Maynard is seeking the Republican nomination for the 3rd Congressional District of West Virginia. Maynard is a former West Virginia State Supreme Court Justice and trial judge from Mingo County.
