Huntington, WV (HNN) — Conrad Lucas, candidate for the Republican nomination for Congress in the Third Congressional District of West Virginia, today signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. With this pledge, sponsored by Americans for Tax Reform, Lucas has made a promise to the citizens of the 3rd District that not only will he oppose any and all efforts to raise taxes, he will also fight any efforts to reduce or eliminate deductions and credits.

“People in West Virginia are simply tired of taxes, and by making this pledge today I am insuring voters of the 3rd Congressional District that I will fight for them, when elected to Congress,” said Lucas. Lucas understands that lower taxes help spur economic growth, encourage businesses to hire and help individuals to achieve greater success.

“I want people who work hard for their pay — be they teachers, coal miners or in other chosen fields — to keep more of what they earn. Likewise, business taxes must be lower to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit that made our nation great,” he said.
