Snowshoe, WV - West Virginia’s best all-brands touring rally returns to Snowshoe Mountain Resort for its 9th year, July 16-20. This year’s Freedom Fest event will feature four fun-filled days of tours, live entertainment from classic rockers The Outlaws and Pure Prairie League, biker games and our newest addition, a $10,000 poker run. The area surrounding Snowshoe Mountain is one of the most picturesque in the country, and the winding mountain roads will keep you entertained no matter your destination. Snowshoe Mountain’s many accommodations and amazing dining and nightlife options make it the perfect place to spend any time off your bike.
The big addition to this year's event is the $10,000 poker run. Riders will cruise across the county and stop at designated locations, looking to acquire the best hand of cards. The motorcyclists with the winning set will walk away $10,000 richer! Nightly entertainment Thursday through Sunday will include several bands heating up both the outdoor Village Stage, as well as The Connection Nightclub. As part of Snowshoe Mountain’s Summer Music Series, the Skidder Slope Stage will be rocking Saturday, July 19, as The Outlaws and Pure Prairie League take over this great outdoor venue. This amazing show is truly one of the can’t-miss events of the weekend, but only 1000 pre-sale tickets are available, so be sure to make your reservations today!
In addition to all of the on-mountain entertainment and activity, off-mountain tours and events will include a parade to historic Cass, W.V. for the famous Cass Scenic Railroad Dinner Train, scheduled trips to nearby Marlinton, W.V. for an evening of music, bike shows and much more, and bike and hike trips to the breathtaking Scenic Highway, Cranberry Glades, Falls of Hills Creek and other area attractions. Tours will also be offered to Green Bank, W.V. and Lewisburg, W.V.. Along the way, stops will include the American Mountain Theater in Elkins, W.V., sightseeing at breathtaking Seneca Rocks, the Nation Radio Astronomy Observatory, Droop Mountain Battlefield and White Sulfur Springs, home of the famous Greenbrier Resort. The final stop on each tour will be the Cass Scenic Railroad, where you can stay and ride the steam-driven locomotive or head back to Snowshoe Mountain.
Freedom Fest offers motorcycle enthusiasts the chance to make new friends, reunite with old ones and experience the fun and natural beauty of Snowshoe Mountain and the surrounding area. Bikers will also have the opportunity to head out to the New River Gorge on a ride and raft trip with Songer Whitewater, show off their hogs in the annual bike show, tour West Virginia’s scenic streams and historical parks and parade to historic Cass, W.V. with comrades.
In conjunction with the Freedom Fest event, KTM North America will host their 5th annual KTM Adventure Rider Rally July 18-20. KTM is excited to host the rider rally in Snowshoe, W.V. where Red Bull KTM rider David Knight won the Snowshoe GNCC event last year. The KTM Adventure Rider Rally is open to all KTM owners. The KTM Adventure Rider Rally includes guided loops for all riding levels, bike set-up and riding technique seminars and much more.
