Weekend First at HNN: Weekly Movie Comings and Goings

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- New Mainstreamers … After having been X’d, moviegoers have only one ‘new’ alternative this weekend: “Break Up.” A break up between Brooke (Jennifer Aniston) and her boyfriend Gary (Vince Vaughn) leads to a pair of immovable objects --- neither will let go of their share of the condo. The stalemate sets off a litany of emotional war games designed to get the other to sell his or her half of the residence.
Although “Break Up” is the only new release, the week has a rare Tuesday, June 6, opening of “The Omen,” so it can theoretically open on 06606. A remake of an utterly terrifying 70s flick concerning the birth of the antichrist in an upscale home sent chills down millions of backs. It also served to introduce non-church going moviegoers to the Biblical prophesies of the “end times” and how the anti-Christ wages war against humanity.
June 9 promises John Lasseter’s long awaited “Cars.”
