LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Bush’s Drug ‘Czar’ John Walters Just as Incompetent as
‘Brownie’
To the editor: Wow, it’s good to see the Bush administration’s National
Director of Drug Control Policy is at least as up to his job as was former
FEMA head, Michael “Brownie” Brown who, besides being Bush’s campaign
chairman, had only his failed tenure as head of an Arabian Horsemen’s
association to recommend him for overseeing the worst national disaster in
American history. Who are these people?
John Walters, the drug czar, says our biggest problem is marijuana. I don’t
know about you, but I haven't seen a lot of weed fiends running around
raping and shooting people. Walters was previously the president of the
Philanthropy Roundtable, obviously well equipping him to work towards his
ambitious goal of a 10% reduction in teen and adult drug use over a TWO YEAR
period.
Focusing on marijuana, of course. I'm sure our local police departments were
happy to read Walter’s comments that the solution to drug abuse is simple:
If we have an underlying crack problem, we have to deal with the crack
distribution in that area. Wow, what insight! Obviously the residents of
those ivory towers at Michigan State University, where Walters was a
professor, don’t suffer from any real-world experience.
