Editorial: Raese Campaign Revving Up
While many have wondered just what John Raese's campaign for
U.S. Senate is up to these days, aside from occasional radio and
TV ads, Raese "sightings" continue to pop up on the political
radar screen across West Virginia.
Most recently, Raese was seen personally dropping off many
new road signs and bumper stickers while speaking to a capacity
crowd of College Republicans at WVU--their first meeting of the
new semester. To have their party's U.S. Senate candidate there
to welcome them back to Morgantown for the upcoming fall football
and political season must have been fun for those gathered.
Since Raese appears to be revving up his engines for the
fall political season, we wonder if he will pull a few surprise
plays of his own now that the public will be focused more
on the contest between him and Senator Byrd.
One thing's certain. Raese's not afraid to throw the long bomb,
and his special teams enjoy hitting the other team's punt returner
hard enough to cough up a fumble now and then.
Should be an interesting game.
