DEVOTION: Divine Inspiration

By Beth Bondurant

See the hills come alive with divine inspiration...
as leaves turn into a miraculous wonder of color...

Hear the voice of an angel come forth from a 10 year old...
nourishing and blessing our spirits...

Watch the precision and programmed determination "in flight"...
as time comes for birds to make their move...

Observe as lullaby music quietly plays in hospitals...
signaling each new birth as amazing potentiality...

Celebrate as a burst of blazing redness rises with each sunrise...
marking a new beginning...

Each blink...each breath... each taste... each sound depicts divine inspiration...

"You will notice that the variety of bodies is stunning. Just as there are different kinds of seeds, there are different kinds of bodies—humans, animals, birds, fish—each unprecedented in its form. You get a hint at the diversity of resurrection glory by looking at the diversity of bodies not only on earth but in the skies—sun, moon, stars—all these varieties of beauty and brightness. And we're only looking at pre-resurrection "seeds"—who can imagine what the resurrection "plants" will be like!"

O God, sometimes I stumble out of bed and can't see the divine inspiration you provide all around my heart, mind, body and spirit. Set off an alarm in my head so I can be ready to seize the day... to let the beauty and strength of goodness and mercy surround my tired and obstructed vision. Help me to rise up in wonder and seek to find your presence in all of life. Ring a bell to awaken my sensitivity to your truth ... your creative passion that moves and molds consistently in and around each new day. Continue to teach... motivate.. encourage... bless... and forgive us for our spiritual apathy. We are forever grateful and in need of your divine inspiration.
