CLARIFICATION: 'The Rockford Files' Didn't Debut Until 1974

By David M. Kinchen

In my Parallel Universe column on "Then Came Bronson" (http://www.huntingtonnews.net/columns/100825-kinchen-columnsparallel.html) I referenced "The Rockford Files" as a favorite TV series of mine. The show ran from 1974 to 1980, while "Then Came Bronson" left the air in the spring of 1970. I want to clarify that the two series didn't overlap.

By the way, NBC is working on a new "Rockford Files" show, according to entertainment news sources. Several sources say "Lost" star Josh Holloway has been mentioned to take over the Jim Rockford role, played to perfection by James Garner.

Since it ran only one season (1969-70) there is no collection of the 26 "Then Came Bronson" episodes available on DVD. There are copies of the international theatrical version of the pilot episode for sale on Amazon.com. I might just order a copy!
