DEVOTION: Hidden Miracles

Russia seems to be so far away... yet hidden miracles occur there daily without our knowledge. Via e-mail comes stories of restoration and reconciliation... in remote places that at one time were devastated by life's daily challenges. Missionaries traveling to see and experience these hidden miracles of transformation are blessed and renewed by how God's Spirit moves in mysterious wonder through God's people everywhere.
 
"How long, O Lord." is our cry.
 
Trudging through the mud of flood waters... climbing over the twisted branches and broken tree limbs...waiting for help and direction... astounded by the mammoth boulder now blocking the highway... feeling the weight of the world on tired shoulders and weary hearts can make every moment seem like an eternity.
 
"If possible, let this cup pass from me." is our ardent prayer.
 
Pleading for healing and relief from so many health circumstances that take away our vitality and purpose... looking to find ways to adjust and accept the limitations of our humanity... seeking support to "walk through the valleys" of day to day obstacles that keep us from 'life more abundant' consumes our energy.
 
"Nevertheless, not my will... but thine be done." is our hope.
 
Finding peace and goodness no matter what the problem... seizing the promises of mercy and grace... leaning on God's faithfulness... emptying our thoughts and feelings into God's compassionate heart... feeling the touch of healing and hope in every breath... focusing on the light of God's love, we expect the unexpected.
 
Whether we are driving into the remote hills of the Russian countryside... or sitting in our own favorite chair... or pulling up our weary bodies to start another day of duty... or closing our eyes in hope that the trauma will go away... life is full of hidden miracles.
 
O God... help me to see! Help me to feel! Help me to heal! Whatever it is that keeps me from "the peace that passes all understanding"... I believe in hidden miracles!!
