GUEST COMMENTARY: Congressional Candidate Kim Wolfe’s a Hero to His Wife

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- What a journey, traveling through life with what
started out as a simple, honest man, and now holding on for dear life with
this still honest man whose education, expertise, wisdom and circle of
influence have grown a thousand fold, but who still drops easily off to
sleep at night, having done what he can today, and tomorrow, he’ll do the
same thing. So simple: “Just do what’s right.”
Skeptical about how my husband would fit in on the hill, I went on one of
his Washington trips, to hold his hand. I thought I knew everything about
Kim Wolfe. I was wrong. I’ve never seen him more in his element. He
strode around the Capitol like he owned it, not because of his power or
influence, but because he knew he had every right to be there, because our
Founding Fathers meant for our representatives to be just that:
representative of the people, NOT professional politicians.
Walking beside my husband in his power suit, we passed a tour group of
schoolchildren. Pointing at Kim, the guide said: “I’m not sure who he is,
but he’s somebody important!”
He is important. For all of us. For you and me and our children and our
grandchildren. That’s why we’re willing to let him go to Washington. For
our families. For our future.
